Jason Barrett
Jason first became interested in photography as a young boy using his play sets, action figures, and family to play with forced perspective. His interest in TV and video grew while hanging out in his parents TV shop. Using the newly invented VCR he started to do rough cut editing, a whole new world of control and power for a young boy. Later he studied multi media communications graduating with a degree in Multimedia Communication. From his love of TV he also followed a brief path acting including an appearance on the Kennedy Center Stage in “Breaking the Code” at the American College Theatre festival. After moving to Taos to Study Earth Ships he became involved with the Taos Mountain Film Festival. He also worked on a television series based out of Taos called “Real Hunter.” Eventually he moved to the Big Bend. There in Lajitas he started a pirate radio station on the Texas Mexico boarder. During political events in San Carlos, Mexico The PI and the Pri would have debates.  He ended up falling in love and marrying a beautiful school teacher. He shot wedding Photos and Videos at Lajitas Golf Resort and Spa in the Terlingua Ghost Town as well as Quicenetas in the rural Ejidos of Mexico. He and his wife subsequently moved to Fort Worth to bring their amazing daughter Luna into the world. While in Fort Worth he worked for Olan Mills as a traveling portrait photographer in the church division traveling extensively over the DFW Metroplex, Oklahoma , and Louisiana. Eventually the Big Bend called once more and they moved back to Terlingua to build their dream home and yoga studio. His passion for restaurants led him to be General Manager of The Starlight Theater in Terlingua. Eventually he also became a partner in the Starlight and was responsible for booking and managing all the talent. He used his photo skills to record Food, entertainment, live events, and anything else related to the restaurant to promote the venue. After the passing of his beloved he and his daughter decided to move to the healing landscape of Wimberley in the Texas Hill Country, known as the official wedding capital of Texas, where he is now sharing his love of media, photography, and video with the good folk of the Hill Country.
